A fire broke out Monday at Jefferson Hospital, affected the upper floors of the hospital.
According to Allegheny Health Network, the “small construction fire” broke out on the roof this morning.
It caused some smoke issues in the upper floors of Jefferson Hospital, making its way through the air system.
The fire was quickly contained by Jefferson Hills fire crews that responded to the scene.
“While smoke impacted some floors, patient care areas were not significantly affected, and no patients were evacuated,” AHN said in a statement to KDKA Radio. “As a precautionary measure, the hospital is diverting patients from its emergency department temporarily.”
No serious injures were reported, all staff and patients are safe and accounted for.
Any remaining smoke in the hospital is being ventilated out.
